Why We Are Not in a Climate Change Existential Crisis?

Image
Climate extremists have taken to claiming that the forever and constantly Changing Climate is an Existential Crisis . What is an existential crisis? This term comes from psychology or philosophy, not environmental science. An existential crisis is when you’re overcome with panic or dread about your place in the world or your purpose in the universe. Health Line, https://www.healthline.com/health/existential-crisis defines it as persons experiencing "...negative emotions can lead to deep despair, causing them to question their place in life. This is known as an existential crisis ." Clearly these climate extremist mean and existential threat. A September 2019 National Review article, https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/09/climate-change-excuse-democrats-transform-economy/ quoted and explained the reality of several Democrat candidates for President: "...many of the Democratic candidates insisted that life on earth was at stake. Warren said climate change is an “ex

The Horrible Results from Climate Change Over the Past Decade

Why the misdirection on use of TRAPPED when describing the Green House Effect? Is it deliberate?

One of my biggest complaints is the use of *TRAPPED* when describing the GHE. Here is an interesting (non-peer reviewed) paper on CO2 physics explaining just what *trapped* means. Heat is not trapped in the atmosphere, but it is slowed in its escape to space. Here: http://brindabella.id.au/…/RadiativeDelayInContext170828.pdf From the abstract: "Atmospheric Radiative Heat Transfer in Context Version 170827 © Dai Davies, PhD dai@brindabella.id.au REVIEW COPY Abstract: It is said that radiative gasses (RGs, or greenhouse gasses) trap heat radiated from the Earth's surface causing it’s temperature to rise by 33 K above the theoretical temperature with no atmosphere. The word ‘trap’ is misleading. RGs delay the radiative transmission of heat from surface to space. I estimate this delay and conclude that its average impact on atmospheric temperatures, the Radiative Delay Effect (RDE), is in the order of 0.14 [0.1 to 1]

The Crazy Beliefs of AGW Alarmists

Image
To be and remain an alarmist you must believe some really crazy things. To baseline my beliefs let me clarify the definition of Climate. From here: http://www.dictionary.com/browse/climate Cli mate [ klahy -mit] 1. the composite or generally prevailing weather conditions of a region, as temperature, air pressure, humidity, precipitation, sunshine, cloudiness, and winds, throughout the year, averaged over a series of years. Alarmist Beliefs 1) Foremost for me is the belief that the warming since the Little Ice Age (LIA) is bad for mankind and the biosphere. 2) Also among those hard to support beliefs is the belief that mankind is the cause or primary cause for the warming since the LIA. 3) Belief in the validity of the out put from the Global Circulation Models (GCMs) and the conclusions in the scientific studies reliant upon them. Warming since the LIA is bad There is almo

For those who disbelieve the "Hiatus" even existed

Image
There has been much debate whether the "hiatus" ever existed in the surface temperature data sets. Below is a graph I captured in 2015 using the WoodForTrees graphing tool. The reason I captured the data then was that the US data was about to change due to a new re-analysis of sea surface temperature data. This change occurred across the world, albeit with some slight differences. Its announced goal was to improve the data. The effect was to remove the "Hiatus" from the existing US agencies, NOAA and NASA GISS, data adopting it.
